In a world that increasingly calls for environmental protection, the Early Childhood Program at Sekolah Insan Cendekia Madani takes a step forward with its theme, "Love Your Earth, Be a Waste Warrior." This initiative aims to teach children the importance of environmental conservation and transform them into proactive participants in safeguarding our planet.

To deepen the students' understanding and provide them with a tangible learning experience, ICM held a special Class Assembly. What set this assembly apart was not just the students' involvement but also the active participation of their parents. This collaborative environment fostered a sense of community and shared environmental responsibility.

The assembly was a showcase of the diverse ways in which the students had engaged with the theme. It kicked off with presentations on what they had learned about the environment. Besides, all students also demonstrated the practical application of their learning through a series of activities:

• Planting sweet potatoes: This activity emphasises the importance of growing our food and the joy of watching something grow from the soil. It also teaches them about sustainable living, patience, and care.
• Making a teddy bear doll, hats, and accessories from recycled materials: Creativity and recycling went hand in hand as the children crafted dolls and accessories. This activity highlighted the potential of recycled materials, turning waste into cherished toys.
• Roleplay 'How to Save Our Earth': Students embodied various scenarios of environmental conservation through roleplay. This reinforced their learning and improved their public speaking and presentation skills.

By engaging students in these hands-on activities, Sekolah Insan Cendekia Madani ensures that the lessons learned stay with them beyond the classroom walls. Moreover, involving parents, the program acknowledges that education and environmental protection are joint efforts. It serves as a reminder that the responsibility to protect our planet lies not just with future generations but also with current ones.
