ECP Family Fun Day was a vibrant celebration of tradition, culture, and community that brought together students, parents, and staff for an unforgettable experience. The event offered a series of engaging activities that showcased Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage while fostering a sense of togetherness and fun. From the creative artistry of Tumpeng decoration to the lively performances of traditional dance and music, the day was filled with joy, learning, and unforgettable memories.
One of the highlights of the day was the Tumpeng Decoration activity, where families worked together to create beautifully decorated rice cones, a traditional Indonesian symbol of gratitude and celebration. This hands-on experience not only allowed participants to tap into their creativity but also offered a deeper understanding of the cultural significance behind this iconic dish. The yellow rice, accompanied by an array of side dishes, was not just a feast for the eyes but also for the heart, symbolizing unity and harmony among the ICM family.
The excitement continued with a captivating Saman Dance performance, where the students and families were introduced to this fast-paced, synchronized traditional dance from Aceh. The rhythmic claps and movements were not only impressive to watch but also involved the audience, creating an interactive and immersive experience. Adding to the musical charm was the Angklung Ensemble, where participants of all ages came together to play traditional bamboo instruments, filling the air with harmonious tunes that echoed the spirit of togetherness.
Throughout the day, attendees had the chance to explore other aspects of Indonesian culture, including Wayang Art, a traditional puppet show that depicted timeless stories of heroism and morality. Traditional games brought out the playful side in everyone, as families competed in friendly challenges, while traditional transportation activities, such as riding in "becak" (pedicabs), offered a fun and nostalgic way to experience local heritage. There are also traditional food stalls such as es potong, kue cubit and kue ape. All in all, Family Fun Day was a heartwarming celebration of culture, unity, and fun, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating the next one.
