More than a commemoration, the Kajian Akbar Isra Mi‘raj 1447 H at Insan Cendekia Madani became a moment of collective reflection on how faith shapes the way we nurture the next generation. Centered on the theme “Bahasa Kasih dalam Membentuk Anak Berakhlak, Cerdas, dan Mandiri,” the gathering invited parents, educators, and the community to revisit the essence of Islamic parenting, raising children with strong character, intellectual growth, and independence through compassion. The event was graced by Dr. Aisah Dahlan, CM.NLP, CCHt, CI, whose presence and insights brought depth and inspiration to the discussion.
The program was enriched by reflective sharing from ICM Middle and High School students Kumara Panji Darojatun and Raisya Muthmainna, who spoke candidly about their boarding school experience. They described a nurturing environment where students feel supported and valued. While feelings of homesickness are a natural part of the journey, they emphasized that dormitory teachers are consistently present to listen, guide, and provide emotional support. This sense of care is further strengthened by the availability of a school psychologist, offering students a safe and open space for personal sharing and guidance.
Panji also shared a personal perspective that eased his early transition into boarding life. Having an older sibling who previously studied at ICM created moments of familiarity, simple encounters at the school restaurant during lunch or at the mosque for prayers, which made the adjustment feel more natural and reassuring. Both students highlighted ICM’s vibrant ecosystem, where diverse opportunities such as student exchange programs, theater productions, and various extracurricular activities keep students actively engaged and highly productive beyond the classroom.
The event atmosphere was further enlivened by a community bazaar and exclusive admission promotions for prospective ICM students. Parents were also given the opportunity to consult directly with the admission team regarding educational pathways. Engagement continued through an interactive question-and-answer session that energized the audience, with discussions ranging from the Isra’ Mi‘raj to life at ICM. Participants who answered correctly received special gifts, while an Instagram Story challenge added excitement, rewarding the most creative post with merchandise from the ICM Store.
The core of the program unfolded during the main kajian session led by Dr. Aisah Dahlan, who delivered a profound reflection on the importance of compassion in parenting. She illustrated that just as a battery requires regular recharging, children need to be continuously nurtured through the language of love, gentle words, sincere encouragement, quality time, affectionate physical touch, acts of service, and thoughtful gifts given with intention. Islam teaches that affection is not merely expressed verbally but embodied in daily adab and behavior. When compassion becomes a lived practice, Insyaa Allah children grow into confident, resilient individuals firmly grounded in akhlak and iman. The session concluded beautifully, leaving a sense of calm, clarity, and spiritual warmth among the audience.
