From April 24 to 26, 2025, Grade 9 students of Insan Cendekia Madani (ICM) Middle School participated in a three-day Scout Camp held at Rawagede Camp Site in Bogor. This annual camp was more than just a requirement, it was a powerful character-building journey. With a focus on teamwork, discipline, leadership, and reflection, the camp immersed students in real-life challenges that taught them to be resilient and responsible individuals.

Despite shifting weather, the students’ enthusiasm never faded. A total of 58 participants, 40 ikhwan and 18 akhwattook part in a variety of outdoor activities designed to strengthen their survival skills and personal growth. The program encouraged students to step out of their comfort zones, explore nature, and practice self-reliance. Accompanied by teachers and scout leaders, they hiked through forests, learned to identify edible plants, and experienced life away from modern conveniences. These hands-on lessons fostered empathy, collaboration, and appreciation for the natural environment.

According to Mr. Amiril, the Scout leader at ICM, the camp offered valuable experiences that classroom learning alone could not provide. “Students who are used to living with complete facilities learn how to manage a journey, survive in nature, and work together as a team,” he explained. By facing unpredictable situations and limited resources, students were challenged to think critically, adapt quickly, and support one another, key qualities for future leadership and maturity.

The Scout Camp reflects ICM’s holistic educational values, where character development is just as important as academic achievement. This experience is designed to shape not only capable students but also compassionate and grounded individuals. As they returned from camp, students brought back more than just stories, they carried lessons in humility, gratitude, and personal growth, which will continue to shape their journey at ICM and beyond.
