Celebrating Imagination: Early Childhood Book Week Recap
28 February 2025

Our young learners recently celebrated a week filled with creativity, fun, and a love for reading during Early Childhood Book Week! This exciting event was designed to inspire young minds through engaging activities that highlighted the magic of books and storytelling. Each day brought a new adventure, encouraging students to express themselves, collaborate with friends, and dive into the enchanting world of stories.

On Day 1, students kicked off the week by decorating their classroom doors, transforming them into vibrant gateways to their favorite books. This activity not only fostered teamwork and creativity but also allowed each class to showcase their unique imagination. Alongside this, the children crafted personalized bookmarks, which they proudly used throughout the week during their reading sessions,  a perfect way to add a personal touch to their literary journeys.

Day 2 brought the excitement of a mobile library visit, or Perpustakaan Keliling. Students had the opportunity to explore a variety of books right at their school, discovering new stories and expanding their love for reading. It was a fantastic way to bring the library experience closer to the children and inspire them to explore different genres and authors.

The fun continued on Day 3 with a thrilling Quiz Day, inspired by the concept of Cerdas Cermat. Students tested their knowledge and quick thinking by answering book-related questions, racing to press the buzzer first and earn points for their team. This activity added a playful competitive spirit to the week while reinforcing what they had learned from their reading.

Finally, on Day 4, the highlight of the week unfolded with Book Character Day! Students came dressed as their favorite storybook characters. We saw a wonderful array of costumes, with children transforming into characters like a brave firefighter, a cheerful bunny, a whirring helicopter, and many more creative interpretations. Alongside their costumes, students brought the books that inspired their outfits. The celebration wrapped up with an award ceremony recognizing the most creative costumes from each level and a special storytelling session by the amazing Kak Maulana. His captivating tales left the children spellbound, ending the week on a magical note.

It was truly an unforgettable Book Week, where imagination took center stage, and every child became a part of a beautiful story!
