The Early Childhood Program at Insan Cendekia Madani hosted an inspiring Global Cultural Week under the theme “Harmony in Diversity: One Peace for All.” This annual event brought the world into the classroom, giving young learners the chance to explore global cultures while nurturing Islamic values such as faith, gratitude, worship, and obedience. The program aimed to help children grow as caring, open-minded individuals who appreciate diversity and understand that peace begins with respect and kindness.
The week opened with a burst of excitement through the Flag Relay Race and Coloring Passport Activity. These fun and active sessions encouraged teamwork, creativity, and joy, setting the tone for a week of exploration and friendship. Students learned that even though we come from different countries and cultures, we can all work together toward shared goals just as the colors of a flag come together to form one beautiful whole.
On the second day, students expressed their ideas through peace-themed posters and prepared to welcome visitors from other classes. They practiced cheerful greetings from around the world, such as Annyeonghaseyo (Korea), Konnichiwa (Japan), Ni hao (China), Hola (Mexico and Spain), and Namaste (India), building confidence in communication and showing genuine excitement to connect with others. The classrooms were filled with laughter, creativity, and the warmth of new discoveries.
The third day turned learning into an adventure! Students received their very own “passports” and began “traveling” from one classroom to another, each representing a different country. They explored displays of traditional food, flags, maps, clothing, customs, and games, all prepared by their peers and teachers. The joy on their faces showed how much they enjoyed learning about the world, discovering how every culture has something special to share, and that understanding one another is the first step toward peace.
The week ended on a high note with vibrant class performances, where students proudly sang songs from the countries they represented while wearing traditional outfits. The grand finale came with a touching performance by the teachers, who sang “Heal the World” to remind everyone of the power of love, harmony, and compassion. Through Global Cultural Week, our young learners didn’t just learn about countries, they learned about unity, respect, and gratitude. They discovered that while we may come from different places, we can all stand together as one global family, spreading peace and kindness wherever we go.
